We all know the feeling. You find an old phone or another device, and you’re amazed at how fast time flies. Those pictures from just a few years ago seem like they were taken yesterday—until you notice how different you look now, right?
I had the same feeling today while browsing through my old personal website. I stumbled upon an old blog post about business innovation / development during the pandemic. It’s funny how long ago that feels and how some companies were already thinking ahead with innovative ideas.

On the flip side, it’s a bit sad to see how many businesses have fallen back into their comfort zones and sluggish routines. The urgency and drive seem to vanish the moment the crisis is over.
Do you entrepreneurs remember:
- How you were stressed and overwhelmed?
- How often you used the phrase “We’re here for you online”?
- How you had to apply for subsidies just to stay afloat?
- How open you were to new, innovative ideas?
Sometimes I wonder if we look back enough and truly reflect on what we’ve learned, or if we’ve already buried those lessons under layers of ‘business blubber’?
Important note:
I’m only human and make the same mistakes as everyone else. The difference is, I try to look forward, but also make it a point to look back often. And sure, listening and not being stubborn isn’t always easy….
